Swipe to see a streamside planting project we completed last year, now beginning to come into its own 🌿

The existing planting had become overwhelmed with couch grass and creeping buttercup, so we cleared the area and replanted to create a more interesting, seasonal display around the seating area.

Some of the plants currently looking particularly good are:

• Primula ‘Miller’s Crimson’
• Primula bulleyana
• Luzula nivea
• Meconopsis gakyidiana
• Actaea simplex (foliage)

A few years of careful restorative pruning paying off beautifully this spring 🌿

This hawthorn had previously been heavily cut back into a tight shape, so the aim has been to gradually return it to a softer, more natural open form.

Covered in blossom this year.

Not all roses are the same 🌹

Rambling roses flower on last year’s growth, so instead of cutting everything back, we tie in stems horizontally to maximise flowering.

In winter, we prune out the old flowered growth and any weak or dead wood.

The results speak for itself🌸.
