After years of wishful thinking, she finally plucked up the courage to give up the boring day job and open her open gallery/shop! Harbour Lane works as a studio for Tori to make work from as well as sell her pieces and support other Scottish artists. The studio is situated next to the harbour in South

Queensferry, just outside of Edinburgh, and has a very nautical feel with all sorts of beautiful handmade and drawn products, with nothing mass produced!

I am very much in the middle of the chaotic creative process involved in making the new display BUT I can’t share any sneak peeks with you yet as I don’t want to ruin the surprise. So I thought I’d look back at some of the installs I’ve done over the last 10 years.

I will admit that creating new displays x4 times a year is a little indulgent but it’s just my most favourite part of the job. I get to fully flex all my creative muscles and have a bit of fun and what’s the point of working for yourself if you can indulge in the fun stuff?!

The new Autumnal branch should be installed in August (as long as all the making goes smoothly) and I am VERY excited about sharing this one with you! So stay tuned 💙

I think because lampshades are such a big part of my life everyday, I forget how special they are.

But seeing so many of them all lined up like this reminds me how proud I am of them and how beautiful they must look in your homes.

Down with boring, plain lampshades!!

I think this is one of the hardest bits about being far away from this shop.

I really miss getting to hear customers experiencing the space, the stock and of course the latest displays.

This was my first proper time off in months and months but taking holidays when you’re self employed is never straight forward.

It’s always a juggle of all these things but boy was it needed. My frazzled brain was stuck in grump mode before we went away but the time out has helped me reset and refocus. I’m feeling calmer, more inspired and most importantly, much less grumpy!!

Who likes subtle anyway?! 🫣

Thought I’d just share this ‘minimalist’ window with you before clocking off. The Fortrose shop is closed now until the 27th of May whilst I take some time off to recharge the batteries. Our South Queensferry shop is open as normal though and our online shop never closes!

We have some really beautiful and fun things at minute so if you’re sad about missing us, pop online and I promise you’ll find something you love. Thank you for all the support and amazing words about my shop. I promise it never gets old and never get tired of hearing it 💙

Having to listen to my own advice as my inner voice is definitely against me this week.
