Out with the 13 year old Viessmann boiler and in with the new Ideal logic max combi boiler.

After being called out to investigate poor heat in the rads and Luke warm hot water, we found it was the boilers heat exchanger that was blocked. Very common on these boilers due to the horrible rubber hoses! It wasn’t economically viable to mess around and try to repair this boiler due to its age, plus the customer really wanted a combi boiler for the constant hot water, better pressure a combi provides and the extra cupboard space gained due not needing a hot water cylinder!

The new ideal boiler has 10 years warranty and in my opinion, the most reliable boilers on the market.

Very pleased to announce I finally have my van back 😊

What a crazy day! And it’s still not over yet! 40+ calls today with broken down boilers and all of them the same thing! FROZEN condesate pipes!

Most I have seen have been installed to the latest regs when exiting outside. They have to be installed with 32mm pipe minimum. It seems that if we have minus temps for more than a couple of days the bigger pipes start to freeze up and they are a bu**er to unfreeze!

Most effective methods if I can’t get out to you are to use a kettle on the pipe outside if it is reachable. If you break the pipe it’s not an issue it’s easily fixed and I do this for free for existing clients.

I hope the boiler manufactures can re think the way we install condense pipes as I don’t think pipe size matters! Bigger is not always better 😆

Bad start to the week unfortunately, cam belt issues on the van means engine may be kaput.

Looks like it’s going to be off the road a while, in the mean time I’m trying my best to sort an alternative way to get to work without letting down any of my customers already booked.

Please bear with, if I wasn’t already busy enough this has really thrown a spanner in the works!

New van!!

Busy weekend upgrading to a bigger van, due to the ever increasing work load it was time to get something bigger to cope with the workload!

5 years ago I started Toms plumbing and heating i am forever grateful to all my new and repeat customers, I must be doing something right!

Such a privilege to also work with my dad everyday, makes a big difference having two of us!

Hopefully this van serves us well and I can’t wait to get it sign written. If anyone knows a good company for designing and sign writing my van please let me know

New rads and brand new pipework throughout the whole house, it’s all 100% copper, you won’t find any push fit plastic here 😎

Great customers too made this job very enjoyable to complete! Can’t wait to see the house finished 🏡

Started my business 4 years ago today! Crazy how time flies!!

I haven’t been posting as much up on here due to being so busy! So thanks very much to all my customers over the past 4 years, your constant recommendations are keeping me very busy 😁

Hopefully now we can all switch our heating thermostats to off and enjoy a lovely non lockdown summer! 😬👍🏻
