It’s nearly spring, here are the top tips to get your lawn ready:
1. Keep having your lawn treatments through the year first and for most. 😉
2. Cleanup,
Clear Debris: Remove any leaves, twigs etc
2. Early Spring Mowing
Start mowing when the grass shows active growth, usually mid to late March or April, depending on the weather.
Don't Scalp: Set your mower to the highest setting for the first few cuts, targeting a height of around 4cm. Cutting too short weakens the grass and makes it susceptible to w**ds.Sharpen your lawnmower Blades.
3. Seed if any sparse/bald areas,
Overseed Bare Patches: If winter has left bare spots, now is the perfect time to sow new grass seed.
4. Scarifying and Aeration
Scarifying removes dead thatch, and nose and revives your lawn from the winter. Please message for a price, we normally do this around March/April (weather dependant)
If your soil is compacted from winter, book in for hollow-tine aerator to make holes. This allows oxygen, water, and nutrients to reach the roots. Again reach out for a quote, we carry this out at the same time as scarifying.
5. Transitioning to Summer
Increase Height: As the weather gets warmer, raise your mower blades to 50mm (2 inches). Longer grass shades the soil, reduces water evaporation, and keeps the roots cooler.
Water Wisely: If a dry spell occurs, water deeply and infrequently (early morning is best) rather than light, daily watering.
Hope this helps 😊
Please don’t forget to recommend a friend and get £10 off your next treatment after they receive their first treatment at a promotional rate if £15 (on average sized lawns)
