Do I need planning permission for my conservatory?

When installing a conservatory, planning permission isn’t usually required. You’re only likely to need planning permission if your conservatory will cover more than half the area surrounding your house, or if the conservatory roof is higher than the highest point of your existing property.

You must also obtain planning permission before you build on raised platforms such as verandas and balconies.
