⚙️ K E E P O N G R I N D I N G ⚙️

The removal of any floor contaminants,old adhesives, high spots and in this case laitance can seem a daunting task.

With the correct equipment and a bit of know how it’s not too much trouble

Laitance as in this case can be a major cause of failure in flooring installations. It takes the form of a weak layer on the surface of concrete and sand cement screeds which appears after curing.

It is made from cement and fine aggregates that rise to the surface when if too much water is added,rain damage or over troweling.

In this instance due to being originally laid in the cooler wetter months has contributed towards its formation

We used the brilliant BIHUI Tools UK concrete grinder and the removal was a straightforward process. 🤙

It also made light work of the high spots we identified.

Now prepared and primed we are ready to tile.

🪵 W O O D P L A N K E F F E C T 🪵

A tough little lounge floor as the levels fell all ways due to the age of this part of the property. Nevertheless a couple of coats of leveller later and some quality DURAL matting and we were good to go.🙌🏻

1200mm x 240mm planks warped also added to the mix certainly made this particular floor a challenge BUT as you can see all issues were overcome and the finish is awesome 🤩

Finished off this main en-suite ready for the 2nd fix.

Should look smart once it’s all complete.😎

Had a productive week completing all the upstairs tiling and now able to move to the second phase.
The complete ground floor tiling.💪🏻
