It’s that time of year 🌳 it maybe a little frosty but it’s the perfect time for pruning back your apple and pear trees. Several diseased branches were removed and any crossovers with an overall prune to secure a healthy growth for this year.

What a difference a few weeks make 🙌

From the end of April compared to the end of May the Lupins and foxgloves are now in full bloom with peonies just about to burst. Scabious and verbascums filling the front along with geraniums. Roses fill the back wall ready to bloom a few weeks after

Before & after 🌳

After a few years of being left to it’s own devices, this apple tree was in need of a serious trim.

The lower branches were taken off along with any branches showing signs of disease. With apple trees the key is to make sure none of the branches are crossing over or rubbing so they do not become damaged or weakened, leaving the tree subject to disease.

The results have proven a great harvest for the owner this year and a very healthy apple tree 🍏
