Just a friendly reminder when comparing waste removal quotes, folks.
If you receive a quote that seems incredibly cheap, it’s always worth asking a few questions:
✅ Are you a registered waste carrier?
✅ Will I receive a waste transfer note?
✅ Will I get an invoice or receipt?
The answers can often tell you a lot about where your waste is actually ending up.
For a bit of context, some typical commercial disposal costs are:
• Mattresses: £30–£45 each
• Couches: Around £35 each
• White goods: Around £50 each
• General waste: £241 per tonne
• Wood: Around £75 per tonne
And that’s before fuel, labour, vehicle costs, insurance, maintenance, tools and other business overheads.
I’m always happy to help where I can and keep prices as fair as possible, but it’s worth keeping these costs in mind when comparing quotes.
At the end of the day, we all want to keep the Highlands bonnie, support responsible local businesses, and make sure waste is disposed of properly.
If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. 🤷♂️
