Why do people always pick American white oak?

American oak is great for inside work due to the moisture content being low but what about American red oak.
The pictures below are the two side by side.

Red oak is around £6 a metre less on skirting boards.
Now imagine the savings on 100m like an average house has.
Add doors/frames/arcs and you could be saving thousands. On one house.

Week 1: 02/06. Hanging doors basics including adding latches, handles and hinges to doors
Week 2: 09/06 Assembling kitchen units, adding hinges and handles etc
Week 3: 16/06 Rawl plugs, wall hangings and putting up shelves, plaster board fixings, fitting skirting, arcs etc .

All three sessions cost £160 including VAT.

When you arrive at a job you supplied some oak gates too last year and they still look amazing 🤩 .
70mm thick, 20mm boards, absolute perfection.

We’ve made and installed these beautiful 56mm Sapele garage doors this week. An old style look to suit the house. Perfection.
The only part about this install that was tricky is the fact the opening was 22mm out of level😆.
The side door was a whopping 70mm a of level .

Happy customers again😁
