Another plastering job undertaken last week. This had one had all the rip out done for me 😁😁😁. It had gypsum hardwall applied on one entire wall and some patches, ruled flat and scratched to regulate imperfections, ready for an overskim.
Now everything has had a fresh coat of plaster to give fresh, flat walls, ready for decoration.

This is another recent project that went from simple renovation to major overhaul!
Originally, it was re board 2 walls and plaster the room.

Under a closer scope, the "probably 200 year old" lime render on the exterior stone walls had blown in to many places to patch. Meaning these walls also had to be stripped bare and having being originally built with natural stone many many years ago, Natural stone carries moisture. Meaning that lime render has to be reinstated to allow the wall to breath.

Currently, the 2 original walls have now been boarded and have had a fresh coat of plaster and the exterior walls have had their first "scratch coat" of lime, ready to accept their second coat next week and the final skim coat the week following.

This MONSTER of a job has finally come to an end!
When this lovely couple first got in touch, it was supposed to be a reskim of plaster. But.....
This house was like the Christmas gift that keeps on giving... from virtually every wall upstairs being stripped back to bare brick/timber and being reboarded to every ceiling upstairs being completely ripped out and renewed as the timbers were only 75mm thick!! 😱

The house now has a good, SOLID 6x2 timber frame ceiling in every room upstairs, fresh board and fresh plaster everywhere, giving the house a well needed freshen up ready for the next phase of its life to be the charming family home that it is.

And that's a wrap after a very hard, hot and sweaty few days.
