This is probably the quickest and easiest way to measure up for wallpaper in a room.

There were 20 drops in this room, and we’d get 3 drops per roll with this paper, which means we need to order 7 rolls of wallpaper. We should have part of a roll left over when we’ve finished.

A good decorator will always paint the skirting boards last. Apparently, you pick bits up when painting the skirts, and you don’t want those bits to ruin the finish on a door or window. The bits in the paint probably don’t matter as much on skirting boards because most of it is covered by furniture anyway.

I really enjoy painting doors… it’s easily my favourite part of the job.

We can scrape the glass and repaint the window and door. I don’t know if there’s a way to get all that paint off the brickwork though (I hope there is). If not, I guess we’ll have to paint the whole thing.

Have you ever used Cuprinol Ducksback? Have you noticed how it repels water? That’s because it contains wax.

Being water repellent means it better protects the wood from the weather and moisture. Water tends to bead on the surface rather than soaking in, which is where the name ‘Ducksback’ comes from.

Clever really. It’s not just a catchy name.

I need to repair this, but it’d be great to get rid of the Artex altogether if possible. I’m not quite sure how to go about it. The leak has been fixed, so there shouldn’t be any more water damage.
