Wild flowers, how beautiful they look. They have been sown this year on a bare patch of border and this is the result! An easy and quick way to fill an empty spot that will attract bees, insects and birds and if you let it self seed should look as good next year.🐝🐞🦋🐦

A new planting scheme for a garden in Boston Spa. The theme was PINK.
The beds were planted up with a new climbing rose, peonies, fuchsia, astrantia, geraniums, geums, hydrangea, dahlias, veronicas, and salvias to name but a few. The plants were also chosen for an extended flowering season to add colour and interest. Tulip bulbs will be planted in autumn for spring colour.
This time next year this bed will be more established and will hopefully have filled out.

I have spent a few days last week transplanting established box hedging into a new spot. It will look a little scruffy for a while but once it has re rooted and has had a trim it will help to define this section of the garden.
This is the start of a garden refresh, next job border tidy up, sort out and replant. Watch this space!

Looking for something a little different? This gravel garden was planted with verbena, achillea, astrantia, erigeron, grasses (stipa ponytails) and gaura. The box balls add some structure. It is easily maintained and provides a long season of interest.
