I recently have done a full kitchen refurbishment for a returning customer that rang me up because of how happy they were with the previous works I had done for them.

Unfortunately the only before photo I have before I removed the old kitchen is the bottom picture on photo 2.

The access to this job was not great at all with how small the place is and the kitchen being upstairs. Also the front door opens onto a road (no curb at all) and there is no garden space. This meant all cutting and machining could only be done in the area the kitchen was going to be fit! Thankfully the customer understood this was the only way, but with the equipment I have onboard my van there was little to no dust or mess for them.

As well as the kitchen, the island and the TG&V panelling as splash back above the worktop areas. The client while I was on the job asked if I would replace and fit 5 doors for them and move one of the doors from one side of a wall to the other side. I didn’t grab many photos of that works but you can see one of the new doors to the left hand side of the new kitchen.

As always. email, message or call with any of your carpentry needs and I’ll be happy to turn all of your carpentry need into reality.

Nice switch up from the repair work with this cut roof in stoke Fleming.

This job was to cut a full new roof onto a house refurb with 4 dormer windows and a flat roof between the back two.

I thoroughly enjoyed this job as who doesn’t love a cut roof.

Luckily when I got there the old roof had been stripped off already and the house had a tin hat scaffold which helped as the weather was awful while I was doing the job.

This job was a case of getting the ridge and the main pitch up then building the dormers off of that. All dormers were boarded and noggins for soffits and that were done. Then I laid the chipboard flooring and then built all the stud work to form the rooms of the loft conversion.

There were some other jobs throughout the house that were complete while I was working for this client such as some gallows brackets to support the existing porch roof, boarding and felt and battening of the outside of the house ready for rendering and alteration to the joist work inside for the main stair case to be moved!

I will post some photos of the other works in another post.

This job in Kingsweir was to take off all the old rotten soffit and facia and replace it with new marine ply which will then be covered over with aluminium by another contractor.

This job came with its frustrations as once the old ply was off I discovered all the frame work behind it hadn’t previously been put in straight at all. So I had the tedious job of straightening it all out.

As the roof this soffit and facia was on was a cold roof, ventilation grooves had to be cut into the soffit boards with a stainless steel fly mesh stapled to the back to stop bugs and that getting into the roof.

All of the old soffit and facia was screwed on with normal wood screws which had rusted out. As this job is right on the mouth of the river dart the new boards were screwed on with stainless steel screw to prevent this happening again.

The location of this job was incredible right on the waterfront. With a scaffold cantilevered over the river for access to the soffit and facia. This was a thoroughly enjoyable job considering it was just a soffit and facia replacement!

Nice little job in Brixham back at the start of the new year.

On this job the joists of the balcony had started to rot out so therefore it wasn’t safe to stand on.

First of all I stripped the old deck off. Then cut the old rotten joists out.

After cutting the new joists to size I painted the tops and the ends with blackjack to help prolong the life of them.

Once the joists were in I used reclaimed deck boards as the new floor covering of the balcony, worked out my board spacings so there wasn’t a small rip down one end, fixed it all down and job done.

Been slack on posting recently so a few posts over the next few days.

Refurbishment of some solid oak bi-fold garage doors done on a manor near Dittisham. The doors were all coming apart at the tenons/joints as when they were built they weren’t built with any wedges in tenons. The actual doors and timber were all in good condition so it was decided to refurbish them. I fully stripped each door back to parts then re assembled and added wedges in the joints as well as oak dowels through the joints as extra support.

As well as the 6 garage doors there was also some small single doors that needed the same works and a big solid oak front door that had dropped and wasn’t working so work was needed on them to get them back up to working order again. (Didn’t manage to get any photos of the other works)

This client was over the moon that everything is back working as it should and didn’t have to pay out for brand new doors to be made all round.

As always don’t forget to email, call or message for any of your carpentry requirements to see if I can help. All aspects of carpentry and joinery undertaken.

Well that’s my last day as employed over and done!

I appreciate everyone who has supported me with my decision and helped me to achieve this goal over the years!

Next week I fully start up on my own and I couldn’t be more excited for this next step in my career and in my life. It’s taken a lot of hard work and dedication but I’m so happy I’ve managed to get to the stage where I’m able to do it.

Remember to call or email if you have any enquiries, all aspects of carpentry and joinery are undertaken by myself.

(The work in these photos has been done while I’ve worked for .ltd and I wish them all the best for the future)
