Well it has been soooo long since I posted anything. Firstly to all my friends and followers wishing you all a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year. Last year we found ourselves having to do an unexpected move and in the process moved to an old cottage which has taken a lot of work to make habitable. Not complete yet by a very long way but we are in and living here. The cottage was uninhabitable, so this precluded any posting at all while I worked on fixing it up. Then an operation which required a couple of months of not being allowed to do much of anything and before I knew it, i was Christmas

Well I am back in the shop now and starting the year with a big tidy up and re-organisation. For the moment, its a novelty to swap sawdust for plaster dust, though that too will have to continue as well for some time.

I've missed posting my pictures and maybe it’s time for another one before everyone forgets The WoodWright. The reason I haven't posted in a while is because I have been simply too busy with other things.

One of the things being made in the workshop right now is a big chunky mirror frame for a customer. I have another 6 or so in production.

I will shortly have a little competition for one of my followers to win one. Watch this space and please play along when I post it.

Woodburning, or as the Japanese call it, Shou Sugi Ban is currently hot trend!

Here is a close up of desktop which is my current work in progress. It can also be stained for your desired look. I hope to post a photo of the finished desk next week.

These photos are of the latest coffee table I made and finished just before Christmas and is waiting for collection.

This one is made from a beautiful oak and finished with a Gunstock stain, 2 sealer coats and 4 finishing coats.

Here is a design for an oak laptop desk. This client saw a similar one in a high street department store. He liked the look of the in store version but was put off by the very poor quality.

He wanted it bigger and to feature a separately accessible inbuilt compartment with an electrical multiplug for charging small equipment for powering his laptop and table lamp. The oak was hand selected on Thursday and manufacture has begun.

This is another example of a contemporary, no frills, neat & practical design that will no doubt be treasured for years to come.

This is a dressing table I was asked to design last week. The brief was a simple 2 drawer oak dressing table. This can also be used as a desk, or a hall table. As many people find they can't quite seem to find the size they need, or otherwise made to the standard they require.

Much of the cheaper flatpack furniture today is of poor quality, though the simple style is what they want. The WoodWright makes simple timeless designs to a standard that can be treasured for years to come using quality materials and a combination of traditional and modern woodworking techniques.

Here is another one of these fun images. This time disguised behind my marvellous air powered respirator which does an incredible job at keeping the dust out of my lungs. This is me over the last 2 weeks lying awake at night designing my latest creation - a strong, attractive bed with tons of storage with 4 substantial drawers running on quality soft close sliders. It also features some concealed compartments for ultimate privacy that will have the option of fitted locks.

It will be built to last a lifetime using traditional joints and made of solid oak and the highest grade of birch plywood. It is not flat pack but comes in 2 halves for transportation that bolt together. This will be cut on the latest CNC machinery for precision and hand assembled and finished by me.

This one is a double. It will also be available in King size. Independent headboards will be available and it has fittings for a standard headboard. I can also make one off custom beds and more bed designs will follow in due course.. Choose your own mattress to suit your tastes.

If cheap & flimsy doesn't appeal, then this is for you. Watch this space for more details as it progresses.
