What year in lampshade land it’s been.
I just want to say a massive Thank You 😘 to everyone who has supported me on my crazy journey.
The highlights of my year were exhibiting at The Ideal Home Show in Glasgow and The Country Living Fair in London. Getting to meet my customers and chat pattern and home decor will always be my favourite thing.
It’s also wonderful to meet so many inspiring creators and makers. I love that we’re out there creating our pieces and so many want to be a part of that.
November and December were absolutely crazy but I’m feeling refreshed after a few days off at Christmas. I have some new designs coming and will soon be adding cushions to my Etsy shop and website.
So here are my best sellers for 2024 and I’m sure you can see why.
Firstly we have the stunning Heron lampshade. The muted colours and painterly design make for a truly beautiful lampshade. Its subtle colours fit easily with most interior colours. Currently it’s selling fast with a champagne liner for some added warmth. As a classic empire lampshade style it works so well too.
Secondly the utterly gorgeous Renoir velvet fabric in multi has flown out my door. The vibrant colours and abstract pattern reminiscent of an Impressionist painting just works. I love it with the mirror gold liner or even just white to really let the colours pop when the lamp is lit. This fabric was a customer request and I’m so glad she did. I love it 😍
Thirdly Jungle Birds in black velvet. This has been popular in extra large table lampshades. I won’t lie it’s not the easiest to pattern match but it’s so worth it. As an extra large table or floor lamp it looks absolutely 👌. This was one of the first fabrics I ever bought when I started making lampshades 3 years ago, so I do have a soft spot for it. Alongside the red parrot there’s a peacock and a toucan all hiding among fabulous lush jungle foliage. What’s not to like!
And finally here’s one I made for myself today. With its retro vibes and burnt orange colour this scion fabric looks amazing. A customer ordered several of these in different colours for ceiling shades which will look pretty cool in their hallway and living room. I couldn’t resist.
So again, thank you for making 2024 one of the best years I’ve ever had and all the best to everyone for 2025.
I don’t do new year so I’m tucked up on the sofa with my cats. But whatever you’re up to have a fabulous evening and year to come.
