This is a traditional tea blend I made today with wild harvested elderflower (Sambucus nigra) organic home-grown yarrow (Achillea millefolium) and peppermint (Mentha x piperita). These herbs were gently gathered in the Summer at Meusydd and dehydrated at 35 degrees C to preserve all the goodness. Stored whole in glassware and kept in a cool and dark place.
To make the blend I weighed each herb separately according to the formula (equal parts), hand worked the plant material to a finer consistency and mixed them together to form this loose-leaf cold and flu tea.
During the process I thought it would be interesting to compare the locally gathered plant material to some high quality stock I bought in. I was really surprised to experience the intense difference in colour, texture, smell, energy and taste. Wild harvesting and home growing really does lend itself to something very special and inspires me to keep walking this path.
With the Autumn Apothecary drawing to a close, I feel incredibly grateful for the Earthy sustenance I have managed to gather this year and the lovely folk I’ve had the pleasure to share it with.
If you didn’t manage to experience the Autumn Apothecary the Winter Apothecary is nearing✨🍂✨

An abundant time of the year🙏
If you would like a ‘free from’ pesticide/fertiliser bag of veg please direct message for details or if you are passing through the village of Llanbedrgoch on the Isle of Anglesey (nearby the seaside town of Benllech), the veg barrow/honesty box is on the roadside outside Meusydd! There is much more variety than shown in the image. This is my mini harvest from last week. Oh so fresh✨🤗✨

Preparing the land for a season of growing pesticide and fertiliser free herbs, fruit and vegetables for the local bag/box scheme which will be taking place again this year. If you live locally and would like to sign up for this, now is the time to register (limited availability - contact in bio).
For Llanbedrgoch village dwellers and holiday makers, keep your eyes peeled for the road-side barrow outside Meusydd. Fresh produce and flowers will be available to buy (via the trusty hole in the wall method) in the coming weeks. Also, if you are looking for allotment space there are a few plots left.
We continue to sow seeds by their thousands, watering daily and watching the baby seedlings grow. It is always an exciting time of the year and a labour of love. After this weeks frosts and giant hail storm we are glad to have held off on any further planting out, with the exception of potatoes and broad beans.
Happy Beltane approaching and Bank Holiday weekend folks! One of my favourite times of the year. The abundance of wildcrafted plants for food and medicine is overwhelming to say the least. Feeling very grateful, fully supported and nourished by our beautiful planet✨🌿🌎🌿✨
