Often when we go to houses they ask “are you ok with dogs?”… the answer is always, absolutely!
You’ll often find us making friends with pets and sometimes you might hear us talking to them whilst we’re surveying!

Look at these 3 beautiful Bernese Mountain Dogs who we met the other week on our site visit!

Brick slip cladding is something we have specified recently on a residential project and it has turned out brilliantly (if we do say so ourselves) and all with thanks to Matt and the team at IMP Construction and Steve at LBT Facades

It takes a bit of planning before commencing the works with ordering materials and setting out corbel details, but its ability to totally transform the original dwelling outweighs the planning and preparation works.

Sometimes you can find some lovely little treasures whilst taking measurements of old houses.

This photograph was found squashed under the loft insulation whilst trying to take some dimensions of the ceiling joists. It’s dated with handwriting as 20/03/30! Nearly 100 years old and it’s still clear to see.

It’s got us wondering if anyone else has ever found anything like this in their house renovations?

An exciting way to get the new year underway with one of our extension projects starting on site this week.

Also great to see the sign boards up on site showcasing The Open Plan Building Co who are going to use their magic to bring the drawings to life!

We can’t wait to see the progress on site and we will keep you updated with some photos along the way.

Hello all!
We are officially out of the office Celebrating the Christmas festivities and the end of the 2025 Year, and we just wanted to Thank you all for your support over the past year and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Our offices will close on Wednesday 24th December 4pm and we’ll be reopening on the 2nd January ready for a wonderfully creative 2026!

We look forward to catching up with you all then. 🎄🎅🏼

We called past our Heswall project today as the scaffold has been taken down on the garden elevation and the pebble dash is now painted. It’s all starting to take shape (apart from needing a bit of a clean and some snagging items), and we even managed to catch a happy little bumble bee enjoying the lavender in the herb garden that is starting to flourish.

An exciting moment to receive the Royal Institute of British Architects Chartered Practice sign boards the other week. As we told RIBA, we are very proud to showcase our affiliation with them and becoming a Chartered Practice. We can’t wait to get some more signs up on the sites going forward.

This week started off with a site visit to take some check dimensions, and in preparation for the works commencing on site. It’s so exciting to see a blank canvas prior to the renovation works going ahead. We were brought in to assist with the building regulations aspects of the project and we can’t wait to see this house become a home with the expertise of The Open Plan Building Co.

🤩🗃️ STORAGE 🚪 🤩

One of the most frequent items that comes up on client “wishlists” is more storage, and “clever” storage.

This said, it is also one of our favourite things to try and maximise too, and it is worth noting that storage doesn’t have to be boring, it can be a feature.

This full height buggy and cloaks store was much needed in a 3 bedroom property and it was created by sneaking approximately 1m off the front living room and changing the access door to enter off a new corridor. The Living room was retained and storage is provided. Win, Win.
