6 Sandstone cills have been successfully installed as part of the Tutbury renovation, preparing the property for the next stages. These cills provide a durable and visually appropriate base for the upcoming window installation, ensuring proper water runoff and structural support. With this groundwork complete, the project is now ready for fitting new windows and applying the external render, moving closer to the finished exterior.

Another kitchen has been successfully fitted in Uttoxeter and is now ready for the customer’s plumber and electrician to complete their second fix.

We successfully rendered and finished 30 square meters today, leaving a smooth, seamless surface built to last for years to come. Tomorrow, we move on and continue rendering at another job—keeping the momentum going! 💪

Built completely by hand from the ground up, starting with a solid concrete base, timber framing, cladding, and finishing touches to create a durable, practical storage space. A simple, clean design built to last and tailored to the customer’s needs.

Sunday service! 👌

Had a phone call from a very good friend asking for help after accepting the “cheaper quote” on some rendering 👀

We ended up scraping off all the original base coat, along with several areas of the top coat that had been applied by a so-called “professional”. We then properly fixed all the loose beads, re-applied the base coat throughout, and primed everything ready for the final top coat.

It just goes to show that the cheapest quote isn’t always the best value. Sometimes it’s worth paying for the job to be done right the first time. 💪🔨

We have recently undertaken extensive structural and remedial works on an older property in Tutbury. The project has involved significant brickwork repairs, including the careful removal of masonry above all windows, installation of new steel and stone lintels, and rebuilding using the original bricks to ensure the repairs blend seamlessly with the existing façade.

In the loft space, the property had suffered from roof spread, which had caused the external brickwork to be pushed outwards. The affected masonry was dismantled and rebuilt, with a new wall plate and restraint straps installed to restore structural stability.

We also removed the failing first-floor ceiling and replaced the ceiling joists as part of the structural refurbishment. This is the first phase of what will eventually be a full renovation of the property, bringing it back to a sound condition while preserving its original character.

When you get the call to fit a Wren kitchen 👀

I’ve fitted hundreds of kitchens over the years, but never a Wren. To be honest, I’d always steered clear after hearing stories about poor quality, damaged deliveries, and terrible customer service.

Well… I take it all back! 👏

Everything arrived perfectly organised, every unit clearly labelled, and the whole kitchen went together like a dream. The quality was spot on, fitting was straightforward, and the finished result looks fantastic.

Credit where it’s due — this one gets a solid 10/10 from me. 👍🔨
