We are pleased to present the completion of this kitchen, dining, utility, and downstairs WC renovation.✨

The project included removing the dividing wall to create a bright, open-plan kitchen and dining area, improving both space and natural light. A functional utility room was installed, alongside the rearrangement of the downstairs WC to maximise practicality.

A well-executed transformation delivering both style and functionality.

Unfortunately for this customer, they were dealing with heavy leaks, even though the roof itself isn’t very old.

After inspection, we found the issues were around the ridge and the chimney. A dry ridge system had been used where it wasn’t suitable for this setup, and the lead work around the chimney had been poorly installed, allowing water to get in.

We got it sorted by fitting new lead aprons, soakers and flashings to the chimney, replacing the broken tiles, and re-laying the ridge tiles with fresh sand and cement.

Most importantly, the roof is now watertight and doing exactly what it should. 💪🏠

Delabole slate roof completed 🔨☑️

A reinforced concrete ring beam has been installed to provide additional structural stability to the existing stone walls. New traditional timber A-frames were then fabricated and erected to form the primary roof structure. The roof has been finished with Delabole slate, laid in the traditional manner so the slates themselves provide the waterproofing, without reliance on membranes.

Built for strength, durability, and long-term protection of the building.

Something abit different today. A granite trough used as a waterfall but unfortunately the trough has cracked over time and leaking. So I have welded together a lead liner 👌🏼
