Yesterday was cold, wet, and windy. Today is a beautiful day for installing external WIFI in the hills.

This week we finished up a lovely installation featuring multiple G6 bullet cameras looking very smart in the black colour along with a G4 Doorbell pro in the matching black and multiple POE chimes across the sizable property to ensure you wont miss the doorbell ringing. WIFI was covered by several U7 lite access points and a U7 outdoor access point, all being fed by a Starlink, due to the rural location.
We kept the cabinet small and tidy with an internal light to make any maintenance easy. We also tried out some dev/mount cage nuts (love the bright red colour!) which we will definitely be using again
This job was a pleasure to work from start to finish.

We found this termination on a recent job. The customer said the system "had never really worked right". This cable was is incorrectly terminated and will transmit no data. The colour order in the cable is wrong. If this cable had been tested once it had been installed then it would have been obvious. Always test your cables, it only takes 10 seconds and as in the case of this system it can mean the difference between a system that works and one that doesn't.

This week we finished a simple Unifi Protect installation to provide security to a business that had suffered a recent break in.

Keeping cables neat does take a little longer but it certainly makes things look better and makes servicing easier at a later date. Plus it makes us happy to see neat bundles.

Today we completed a small installation for a beautiful farmhouse currently under renovation. This is using a which we installed previously but will soon be upgraded to BT full fibre

Today we have finished an installation of these gorgeous Unifi G5 Pro cameras.

I'm always amazed, not only by the image quality, which is excellent, but by the usability and software features of these cameras. If you have tried other camera systems and have been frustrated by the backend software, which often seems like an afterthought, then you will be amazed by the by Ubiquiti software environment. Not only motion detection but person detection, pet detection, vehicle detection with number plate recognition all seemlessly integrated into the system.

The range of cameras they offer is also great, from the cutting edge AI Pro to the affordable G5 and maybe inbetween.

We are seeing more and more jobs coming through which are utilising multi gigabit networks. Some of the provider's now offer more than 1 gigabit to your door meaning that multi gigabit networks within the home make sense.
We are currently working on a WIFI 7 network utilising 2.5 gigabit and 10 gigabit infrastructure in the background in a property that demands the fastest speeds possible.

This week we finished off the installation of a point to point WIFI bridge to wirelessly send connectivity down a large garden to provide well over 100mbps speeds for the garden kitchen entertainment space.
If you are planning an outdoor space for entertainment purposes for this summer then don't forget the WIFI coverage. Just imagine trying to fire up the music and not being able to stream easily to your speakers. WIFI is a need not a luxury.
