First visit this year to this garden and I’m so pleased to see so many colours and shapes. I love the Pulmonaria with the Rose hips, Daffodils and Bergenia.

It’s Autumn 🍂 I’ve been absent on here for quite a while, it’s been a busy, hot summer with . There is a lot to do now with tidying and mulching to return the goodness and moisture to the soil. As a wildlife gardener, it’s a bit of an art to get that balance just right between making the customer’s space look tidy enough, while not clearing too much and leaving valuable habitats for the wildlife to overwinter in. This is a beautiful time, breathe and take it all in xx

To think I was concerned this vine might not produce many grapes after a thorough prune in early spring! What a beauty! The hibiscus is also enjoying this warm weather… not so much 😅🫠

Jade Gardening

Plant of the day #132:
Nepeta govaniana.
A branching, yellow flowered catmint with an airy feel to it. Growing to 80cm, its fragrant, hairy leaves form the backdrop to the small soft yellow flowers that flower all the way from July to October. As with all catmints, this one is also loved by bees and butterflies.

Unlike other catmints, this one likes moist soil in partial shade.
