Happy New Year!

The snow is (apparently) on its way.
It's not set to last long, but here's some useful, lighthearted advice anyway 😀

• Embrace the Insulation: ❄️
Snow acts as a natural blanket for your plants, keeping the soil warmer underneath. So, instead of cursing the cold, thank the snow for tucking your garden in for a cozy nap. 🛌

• Don't Shake the Shrubs: 🌲
If your evergreens or shrubs are weighed down by snow, resist the urge to whack them with a broom (tempting as it is). Gently brush off the snow with your hand or a soft brush to avoid snapping delicate branches. 🙅‍♀️

• Stay Off the Grass (Literally): 🚫🌱
Walking on snowy lawns compacts the snow into ice, which can damage the grass underneath. Stick to paths and let your lawn hibernate in peace.

• Cover Your Vulnerables: 🪴🧣
If snowfall is predicted, protect tender plants with fleece or an old blanket (bonus points if it’s one you never liked). It’s like tucking them in with their favorite bedtime story. 📖

• Beware of Meltdown Drama: 🌊
When the snow melts, waterlogged soil can drown roots. Make sure pots and beds have good drainage. And remember, your plants don’t want to relive “Titanic.” 🚢

• Bird Buffet: 🐦
Snow makes it tough for our feathered friends to find food. Toss out seeds or fat balls to keep them chirping happily (and as a thank-you, they’ll eat garden pests later). 🥜

• Take Snow Snaps: 📸
Snow might not last long, so seize the chance to capture your garden’s frosted makeover. Snow-covered plants are nature’s way of showing off its glamour, and we love a bit of glamour in here! ✨

• Prepare for the Inevitable: ❄️➡️💦
Snow means slush, mud, and chaos once it melts. Keep a pair of boots by the door 🥾 and accept that your garden might resemble a battlefield for a while.

Remember, snow 🌨 is just your garden’s way of putting on a winter show, so enjoy it while it lasts!
