This is the colour wash border at the edge of the Fife farmhouse garden that I designed and we planted last spring. It’s looking so good! It is being beautifully looked after by Iona, the gardener, who also took this lovely photo.

Day one of and I’ve loved talking to everyone about the Renewal Garden. The broom is in bloom, the campion is looking gorgeous, and the valerian is about to pop.

Getting the Renewal Garden ready for its second ! So pleased with how it is looking and really excited about telling its story this weekend. Hope to see some of you at the show. Thank you to Winchburgh Developments for covering the cost of the materials for the show garden which will relocate this autumn to its permanent home at Winchburgh Primary School!

Some beautiful blues in my garden, with the meconopsis just starting to bloom. I’ve been quiet on here so far this year: the studio has been busy and I’ve got some great projects on the go, but just decided to step back from social media for a bit while I dealt with some family issues. Hoping to share a bit more from now on.

Rhododendron ‘Praecox’ in bloom in the Fife farmhouse garden. It’s a lovely early flowering rhodo that I positioned so it can be seen from the kitchen sink so that even when the owners don’t want to go outside, it is still bringing them joy.

Narcissus ‘Polar Hunter’ is such a good one. Opens greenish, ages to cream, smells amazing and has cute, neat little flowers. It’s one I use a lot in clients’ gardens, and in my own.

Wonderful to see how well this planting in the Fife farmhouse garden has settled in and is now getting going. We put these all in last April, mostly in 9cm pots and they’re doing well. As with any garden, it never stays looking this lovely without someone caring for it, in this case the fantastic Iona who is doing a beautiful job.

The Viburnum x bodnantense ‘Dawn’ in my own front garden is just looking so magical at the moment. I dug up the lawn last autumn and planted the front garden up with a mix of grasses and shrubs. It’s early days, especially as all the grasses are out of v small pots, and I’m looking forward to everything self-seeding and creeping so that the gravel paths are softened. But I’m also delighted that this is exactly what I was after when I started collaging this planting design: a mix of fairy light-like flowers and hazy textures beneath them.
