We are a Wirral based team of creative and resourceful timber workers with a passion for developing unique outdoor installations and individual one off pieces out of mostly old reclaimed wood. Garden retreat required as part of a whole, rear garden landscaping installation. Customer expressed a desire for reclaimed timbers to be used in the making of a garden retreat to house a hot tub under a roof.

The mission:
Landscape site and secure a treated 6x2 frame to ground.
Use reclaimed scaffolding boards as decking.
Clad rear and side panels with weather coated 9inch wide feather boards.
Roof frame to include a reclaimed telegraph post as a main support with interlocking T and G boards above 6x2 rafters with a single sheet of Firestone EPDM rubber membrane as final weather protection.

(Another lower deck was added to the right-hand side and a child sized work bench, stools and sand pit was added to act as an out door play area).

Link the new installation to the house French doors via a scaffold board topped board walk.

Although the retreat did hold a hot tub, the customer decided that a permanent seating and storage installation under the roof was more practical and usable. This part of the install included the use of unused, weathered 6x2, 7x2 and 8x2 planks for framing and cladding.

New French doors installed to an area between 2 extensions. Plan to build 2 decks graduating from the French door openings down to the level of the lawn. The top deck to have a clear polycarbonate twin wall roof and metal rafter bars.
Make 2 decking frames using 7x2 C16 (strength tested) timbers.
Use reclaimed 6x2 C16 planks for decking with a topcoat of clear coat decking oil for additional uv and water protection.
Install roof support frame using reclaimed roof timbers (from an old pub in Liverpool).
Lay 10mm, twin wall roofing sheets and rafter bars with a gutter system feeding rainwater to an old oak barrel.
Apart from the deck framing, the rest of the timbers are weathered, previously unused, reclaimed timber.
