April has been a busy month for Rocketstripes. We've been keeping up with our regular maintenance jobs, also built a new raised bed, and removed a massively dense leylandii hedge, replacing with cherry laurel, which hopefully will encourage garden birds to nest. A day that started with heavy snow and finished with warm sunshine just about summed up the month!!

Finished a job to rebuild a raised bed. Timbers had collapsed, bed was heavily overgrown and matted, so needed a complete rework. Old timbers were not straight, so we utilised the sloping site to construct a clean and neat finish. Replanted, will look great in years to come!

Its a really good time to get paving cleaned up, and I find that the best way is power washing without using detergents....

Time to winter prune your Wisteria to maximise flowering in late spring. We tidied up this one last week, looking forward to all those cascades of flowers! This wisteria will need a heavy cut and rejuvenation this year, but a simple trim means there should be prolific flowering this year.
