Asked to create a more welcoming and usable entrance to the rear of the cottage, we replaced the existing 'tired looking' sleeper steps with clay brick paved areas and steps, complemented with gravel and low maintenance planting this gave a warm cosy feel to the area, the scheme was then finished off with a beautiful willow fence.

Our brief was to retain the existing paving (which had only recently been installed) but to soften this down with planting, create areas to relax and dine, also adding a more contemporary style. Cedar slatted fencing was designed and made - immediately transforming the look. Adding bespoke powder coated steel planters enabled a softening of the areas with lush planting. Bold sofas then made sense of the space creating a relaxing space.

Following completion of major building works at the old rectory we were asked to design and install a scheme in keeping with the existing formal gardens. The house, an imposing Georgian property required an equally bold scheme, incorporating a large Haddonstone pool as a turning circle to the front and a large reflecting pool to the rear we used a York stone for the hard landscaping.

Set on the Suffolk/Essex border this new build mock Georgian property with a medium sized garden laid to lawn was a blank canvas. Our aim was to divide the garden up into areas for the adults to dine and entertain, enjoy breakfast or a coffee in the morning sun or just relax with a book, while also providing an area for the children to play.

Interlocking circles form the basic concept of this design, providing the client with areas to relax while enjoying the morning, afternoon or evening sun, enjoying formal lawns and informal planting.

An unusual property in a challenging location, a converted martello tower on the sea wall at Felixstowe Ferry, Suffolk. Our initial brief was to design a small planting area to the side of the tower – this developed into the design and construction of a free-standing oak fence.

A challenging space with steep slopes and restricted access – our aim was to create additional spaces suitable for entertaining and leisure and taking benefit of the views over the town. Taking inspiration from the Eden project in Cornwall - we used gabions and dry stone walls to retain soil.

Our commissions can vary from small courtyard gardens to commercial projects such as the Wentworth Hotel in the beautiful seaside town of Aldeburgh in Suffolk. The Wentworth Hotel sits proudly on the seafront in Aldeburgh, our brief was to transform an unused and tired looking space into a flexible space suitable for entertaining wedding parties and guests just wanting to dine outside, or have afternoon tea on the terrace! The exposed site provided many challenges and meant special consideration for the planting and materials chosen.
