This week has been a real mix and match (and very long days) of work then prep for the Ijssel Masters competition in the Netherlands.
I’m travelling over there with my good friend Stuart Harford and we’re hoping the fishing will be as good for us as it’s been for others over the past week or so. Some very big weights have been taken and it’s all looking good!
We’ve had some great help from other competitors who we know well and that has been really useful in terms of taking the right gear. Thanks guys!
Bream, skimmers, ide and great big roach are the target fish and feeder is the main method.
The Ijssel is a huge, powerful river which can need between 90g and 120g to hold the bottom at times so it’s not a venue for the faint hearted…or for light tackle!
I’ll be updating this page regularly from over there during our stay. We’ve got a few days practice before the main six days get underway so that will hopefully be useful! I’ll keep you posted!
