I just love the shape of this irregular bowl. I’ve got some gorgeous resin glitter and have successfully managed to sink it, so it sits at the top rim of the bowl. These photos don’t quite capture just how much it sparkles!

There’s a slight edge between the glitter resin and the core gold of the bowl, but that’s what resin does sometimes. That’s what makes each piece unique!

I just love the lid of this cute trinket box. It’s so dinky! And the box itself is actually quite thin walled, making it seem really refined and delicate (though it isn’t - its made of resin!) Like the others, it’s durable and scratch resistant.

I bought a set of 4 metallic colours and this one is an antique gold/ almost copper sort of colour. It’s quite a strong colour, so if you hold it up to the light you can’t see through it.

It is so stylish and would look great on any dressing table!

Wanna see where the magic happens?

Here, in our conservatory! The same room our eldest was born in almost 18 years ago! (Don’t worry the birthing pool is long gone!).

When working with resin, you need to be sure your moulds are totally flat when filling and curing. This old pasting table gives me plenty of space to work on, but it’s not the most stable table!

Mr Smelly found me a spare piece of wood and with the help of his spirit level and some beer mats we’ve managed to adjust it so that it is flat. That doesn’t mean I haven’t over-filled a couple and had a resin leak though!!!! 🤣🤣🤣

As you can see by my cover photo above, I don’t just have one mould!

As well as the irregular bowl, I have this cute little trinket with lid. It’s a similar width, but the shape means it will hold less. This one shouts overnight earrings or necklace on your bedside table to me, but I’m sure you can make your own mind up as to what you’d do with it,

At first I wasn’t sure if I’d coloured this one too little, especially as the walls of the trinket are so fine, so as it was beginning to cure I decided to create a swirly pattern to really show off the metallic gold.

I only use high quality resin, which is heat resistant up to 90°C and is food safe. It is also scratch resistant and UV resistant, so you can put it on your windowsill if you choose.

The lid is 9cm in diameter, point to point, and the dish is 7cm wide at its narrowest.

What do you think? What other colours would you like to see it in?

Same gorgeous mould, but a completely different colour. Do you prefer this, or the blue?

Mr Smelly recently made me an incredible window sill from a piece of local chestnut. He used blue resin to fill in the natural knots, which got us both thinking about wood and about resin!

So he’s been busy with his workbench, and I’ve been going through disposable gloves like they’re going out of fashion!

What do you think of my first resin creation? I’ve used a chameleon blue pigment for the resin which has a hint of green and purple oil colours in it. The bowl is a really unusual shape and is about 10cm wide, 5cm high.

The resin is high quality, heat resistant up to 90’C and is food safe. Its also scratch resistant and UV resistant so it won’t fade or loose colour if you put it on a window sill.

I’m going to be listing this and various other items for sale very soon.
