🚨Gambian Pilgrim Passes Away During Hajj 2026

Hajia Mariame Bangura, a pilgrim from The Gambia, has sadly passed away while performing Hajj 2026 alongside her husband in Makkah.
According to reports, she suddenly fell ill on the night of Saturday, May 24, and passed away within a short time. Her Janazah prayer was held after Fajr prayers on Sunday at Masjid al-Haram together with other deceased pilgrims from different parts of the world.
It is said that she passed away just hours before departing for Mina to continue the final stages of Hajj. What was meant to be a spiritual journey shared with her husband became a moment of separation that only Allah had knowledge of beforehand.
Many have reflected on the comfort that her funeral prayer took place in the sacred Haram during such a blessed period. Prayers are being offered for Allah’s mercy upon her and all Muslims who pass away during pilgrimage.
May Allah forgive her shortcomings, accept her Hajj, and grant her Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.

SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY DEFILING 14-YR-STUDENT

A thirty-five(35)-year old school administrator at Ridoana Comprehensive School at Atadeka, Mr. Anaglate Mends Edem Kwashie has been remanded into custody for allegedly defiling a 14-year old JHS graduate.

The case reportedly stems from a report by the complainant, Lawrencia Ahorsu, an elder sister of the victim who lodged an official complaint over inappropriate Snapchat messages found on the victim’s phone that pointed to a sexual relationship between her and the 35-year old.

During questioning, the 14-year old victim reportedly confessed to having been in an intimate encounter with the school administrator at a guesthouse she does not recall.

Is it that men are in this illegal act to evade responsibility with adult women?

🚨 Tamale :
This man in the picture below is Dr. Abu Dujana, a prominent, vocal Islamic scholar based in Tamale.

Throughout 2024, he utilized his Mimbar (pulpit) and every available platform to vehemently attack Dr. Bawumia.

Interestingly, he appeared on Radio Tamale, a station aligned with the NDC, to launch a scathing diatribe against Dr. Bawumia, campaigning heavily for the NDC throughout the period.

Last week, I saw his video where he lamented in a video that he has lost the respect of the people in Tamale and its environs, especially among local farmers.

According to him, these farmers call him on the phone to call him Sheege and Mutumin banza (disreputable person).

The reason is straightforward: He campaigned for the Ndc, and they voted for him, but now they are struggling. They have their produce but cannot sell it, unlike under the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration, because imported rice and maize are now cheaper than local produce.

These farmers are unable to start farming this year because they are unable to sell their previous harvest.

Three days ago, he appeared on same Radio Tamale with a confession..

He confessed that under Akufo-Addo/Bawumia, Imams from the North were highly considered for Hajj slots to guide pilgrims and were well-remunerated for their work. It was done devoid of political affiliation.

Today, according to him, none of the local Imams in the North received slots for the 2026 Hajj, as the Hajj Imams leadership under Sheikh Maiga from Kasoa took only his friends.

He lamented the nature of the work they did for the NDC, only to be sidelined.

Allah alone is the shield of innocent men.

May Allah continue to guide Dr. Bawumia.

🚨 The Tamale High Court has reportedly delivered a ruling in a property dispute involving Sheikh Imam Afa Sulemana Nabila.
According to reports, in 2020 the Sheikh allegedly agreed to sell a house located opposite the VIP bus terminal along the Tamale–Bolgatanga road to a businessman for GHC 800,000. The businessman is said to have completed payment in full, but the transfer of ownership was reportedly delayed for several years.
The buyer later claimed that after receiving the money, the seller became reluctant to complete the transfer because he believed the property could be sold at a higher price to another buyer. This disagreement eventually led to a court case.
After several years of legal proceedings, the court is said to have ordered Sheikh Imam Afa Sulemana Nabila either to transfer ownership of the property to the businessman immediately or refund the money together with accumulated interest covering the four-year period. Reports also indicate that the court imposed a cost of GHC 20,000 against him.

🚨 BREAKING: The Ghana Police Service has suspended five officers after they appeared in viral videos that allegedly tarnish the image of the Service.

They have been referred to the Police Professional Standards Bureau for investigation, and the Service says appropriate action will be taken after the probe is completed.

The current IGP is clearly taking action, and this is a step in the right direction. Discipline and professionalism must be upheld at all times.

This kind of behavior must stop immediately, no exceptions.

One suspected attacker is said to have been killed during the operation.
The situation has raised fresh concerns about security in the area, with many calling for stronger measures to protect civilians and security personnel.
There are also claims circulating about possible interference and lack of accountability in past incidents involving attacks on security officers. However, such allegations require thorough investigation and official confirmation before conclusions can be drawn.

MAN WRONGFULLY JAILED 45 YEARS AWARDED GHC 800,000 COMPENSATION

The Supreme Court has awarded compensation of GH¢800,000 to Yaw Appiah, 48, a bar owner who was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to 45 years.

Appiah was convicted and sentenced for 45 years in 2011, when he was 29 years old for robbery. But, prior to his conviction, he had spent five years on remand upon his arrest in 2006.
After spending nearly 20 years in Nsawam Prison since 2006, the Court of Appeal delivered justice and described his conviction and subsequent sentencing as a “tragedy.”

Is the compensation enough?

🚨 Tamale -
IBRAHIM MAHAMA'S ASSAULT ALLEGATIONS AGAINST THE IGP SPECIAL OPERATIONS TEAM: KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM A CONFERENCE HELD ON 22nd APRIL 2026
====================================

AN UPDATE:

1. The conference: On 22 April 2026, the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) hosted a formal sitting bringing together Ibrahim Mahama's camp and DSP Jalil's nine-man camp, each represented by counsel.

2. Allegations Against DSP Jalil: Across both Police Management Board (POMAB) and PPSB sittings, Ibrahim Mahama and his uncle appeared to have stated unambiguously that DSP Jalil did not personally assault them. They seem to have directed blame at other individuals within the team of DSP Jalil.

3. Identification procedure appear compromised: The uncle seem to have attempted to pick out two of the nine officers, but the process appeared informal and appeared to have fallen short of established parade standards according to some reports. Defence counsel formally objected and ensured the objection was captured in the record.

4. Own goal-obstruction appear admitted: Both complainants seem to have conceded, during the conference, that they obstructed police operations at the scene.

5. Politically loaded statement on record: The uncle seem to have confirmed making the remark, "When President John Dramani Mahama leaves office, you will see your real size", words that could speak for themselves in a political atmosphere.

6. Police were managing traffic, not targeting anyone: The team was on the ground clearing a congestion point. It therefore appeared not police aggression, or a targeted operation that pushed the situation into confrontation.

7. The aggressor was possibly not from DSP Jalil's team: A "rastaman" travelling in the lead vehicle has been flagged as a distinct individual, separate from the commander's direct personnel, which may point the physical altercation away from the officers under investigation.

8. Two investigations running at the same time: PPSB and the CID Special Investigations Unit probed the same matter simultaneously, contrary to normal procedure, and the team had to privately fund legal defence on two fronts.

9. Orchestrated pressure suspected: There are strong grounds to suggest the assault narrative was possibly utilized by political actors. Criminal elements who had reason to want the Special Operations Team's anti-drug work shut down seem to have joined the pressure brigade.

10. Removed before the process concluded: DSP Jalil was relieved of his Black Maria command mid-investigation, a move that appeared to follow political pressure rather than any finding of culpability.

11. Exonerated in substance, damaged in effect: The weight of revised testimony and the collapse of the identification process appears to clear DSP Jalil and the bulk of his team. The harm to the unit's operations and reputation, however, has already been done; that is IF they are actually exonerated by the process and investigation
