The HKUST Medical Education and Research Complex, designed by WTPL, will become a new landmark and gateway for the southern campus of HKUST. The Complex conforms to the master grid of the HKUST masterplan while complementing the iconic oval-shaped HKUST Shaw Auditorium. A vortex-like public plaza is created between the two HKUST landmarks. The plaza serves to connect campus pedestrians to the southern end of the Main Concourse, and provides a brand new civic heart for campus life.

A clear podium-and-tower composition brings teaching, research, and social spaces together in one integrated hub. Large atria, visible circulation, grand steps, and landscaped terraces foster openness, interaction, and learning beyond the classroom.

Expressed as a pristine glass cube, the building embodies sharpness, precision and innovations, symbolizing the cutting-edge academic achievements of HKUST, while maximizing daylight, comfort, and long-term adaptability. We are delighted to be collaborating again with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), who is the conceptual designer of the building façade and interior design of the Complex.

WTPL was also the Executive Architect of Shaw Auditorium.

On 24 November 2025, the Greater Bay Area professional title assessment for engineering professionals celebration ceremony「粵港澳大灣區職稱評價工程專業人才慶祝典禮」was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects together with the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, the event received strong support from the Development Bureau, the Education & Technology Department of the Liaison Office, and relevant Guangdong authorities. In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary for Development (Works), Ir Ricky Lau emphasised the value of professional title alignment in supporting the country’s 14th Five-Year Plan and strengthening industry competitiveness. Notably, two of our colleagues successfully participated in the assessment—one attained 正高级工程师(建築學), while the other achieved 高级工程师(建築學). The ceremony concluded with a closing address by Mr. David Lam, the Under Secretary for Development, followed by photo-taking with all guests and the first batch of certified members to mark this memorable industry occasion.

Our KCTL531 Logistics Centre in Kwai Chung has officially entered the superstructure works stage—an important milestone toward delivering next-generation infrastructure for the market.

The Superstructure Commencement Ceremony was led by Mr. Philip Pearce, President of ESR, and Mr. Andy Cheung, Executive Director and CEO of Chinachem Group. It also featured traditional blessing and incense-offering rituals to mark the project’s safe and successful progress. We are delighted to have been part of the celebration.

Scheduled for completion in 2028, the development will provide 1.5 million sq. ft. of Grade A warehouse space for Hong Kong. With growing demand for modern, future-ready logistics facilities, this project will help address customers’ evolving needs and support Hong Kong’s long-term economic and sustainability goals.

Framed by Tai Kok Tsui Road, Ka Shin Street, and Pok Man Street, Gateway • Square Mile embraces the convenience and vibrancy of its urban setting. As part of the Square Mile collection, the development contributes to weaving a new urban fabric in close proximity to the Olympic Station, reinforcing the district’s transformation into a dynamic residential and lifestyle hub. The project comprises of 234 residential units rising above a podium of retail spaces, seamlessly connected to both existing and upcoming Square Mile amenities.

The residential tower is articulated in an L-shaped configuration, with the building thoughtfully set back along Pok Man Street to create a wider streetscape and a more open pedestrian environment. At its crown, a distinctive egg-shaped Sky Club occupies the topmost floor, offering residents panoramic views across West Kowloon and the harbour. Beneath the tower, the podium integrates a landscaped sky garden and an indoor clubhouse, providing a layered sequence of communal spaces that balance greenery, recreation, and convenience. The podium is further distinguished by its façade which is adorned with metallic leaf-shaped features.

Together, the mix of retail, garden, clubhouse, and residences creates a well-rounded living environment that emphasizes accessibility, comfort, and community.

Thanks to Goodman for inviting Wong Tung to join the Goodman Magic Mile Charity Run 2026! Being one of the Platinum sponsors, our colleagues had an incredible opportunity to flex their muscles as they tackled the circular ramp—up and down, up and down! It’s nothing short of a miracle that they not only survived the challenge but also snagged the second runner-up (corporate team challenge) spot! 🥉 And guess what? They made it back to the office on Monday in one piece! 💪🎉

Suzhou Emerald City Phase II, which opened in 2015, significantly enhances the original Phase I complex, featuring four above-ground floors that house a shopping mall and a business hotel. Phase II introduces a larger mall with the largest and most advanced IMAX cinema in Suzhou, along with open street blocks, an office building, a budget hotel, and extensive underground retail space. To ensure seamless integration with Phase I, substantial renovations were made, including structural modifications and changes to the basement functions. Now, ten years later, thanks to effective management and a diverse mix of businesses, the area remains both popular and well-maintained. Distinctive hidden design elements, such as independent logistical elevators and an efficient vertical connection system for each cluster, along with flexible VRV air conditioning systems—over 500 units strategically located out of sight—contribute to the area’s success. These thoughtful and unobtrusive designs have helped maintain an excellent reputation. As Phase III prepares to open at the end of 2026, we wish this notable Indonesian development enterprise continued success in the China market!
