Hurricane Matthew has hit Haiti hard, very hard. The death toll is over 1,000, while thousands have been displaced and are now homeless.
Haitians have endured and continue to endure many hardships every day. However, many can testify that Haitians are some of the happiest people on earth. Their joy in the midst of tribulation is inexplicable and astounding.
Haïti Ma Chérie, a social enterprise born in College Station, Texas, is committed to the well-being of Haiti and its People. Even though we are small, the difference we can make is huge thanks to a large number of dedicated, hardworking, and ambitious college students at Texas A&M University that have come together to help raise money for Haiti.
We would like to emphasize that ALL proceeds will go to Haiti and will be spent in the best interest of the locals not only in the short run but especially the long run.
We will directly bring the funds to Haiti in December with a team of volunteers ready and willing to help where help is needed. We will make sure we are providing more jobs and not taking jobs away from capable residents. We will pay a fair wage to all who work, and our team will voluntarily help alongside. We will partake in service projects delegated to us by OLAD (Organization Lemuel D'Aides aux Démunis), a partner Non-Profit in Anse Rouge.
Important disclosure: Most trip expenses will be paid for with donor funds.
It is very important to us for donors to know exactly where their money is going, and for this reason, all financial information will be available to the public.
We want to welcome all on this journey, and we are very thankful for your donation.
