This project in West Jakarta marks our debut in high-rise development, where exposed concrete is used as the primary architectural expression—reinforcing a bold yet grounded presence in the urban skyline

The west façade features a linear brise-soleil that filters sunlight, reduces heat gain, and gives the building a unified, elegant texture while maintaining outward views.

Mks1 House is a modern home for an Indonesian-Japanese couple, built beside their existing residence, separated by a courtyard and connected by a shaded terrace.

The ground floor features a sunken living room, tatami room, and floating engawa-style veranda that opens to the garden. Bedrooms occupy the second floor, while the third floor houses a library with architectural elements extending to a roof deck, establishing seamless indoor-outdoor experience.

Mks1 House has won First Prize in the Finished Residential Project category at the Daikin Designer Award 2024

Our United in Diversity Campus has been selected as a finalist under the Higher Education and Research category at World Architecture Festival 2024.

The United-in-Diversity Campus is located in Serangan Island, Bali. The brief of this project was to build a modern campus with goals of sustainable development in mind. The facility would act as a high-tech facility and become the first landmark building of the island. In response to the brief, Willis Kusuma Architects draws inspiration from the Balinese compound, where space is arranged according to Balinese cosmology and communal living. The range of programs is compartmentalized into distinct brick boxes, hoisted on steel columns that project up to the roof, creating communal open-air spaces exposed to the tropical climate.
