This Monday at 19:30, we’re hosting the Floors session of The Breathable Home Series, a free live online workshop focused on how traditional floors in stone and masonry buildings were designed to function, and what can go wrong when modern systems are introduced without understanding that.

We’ll be covering why older floors were built the way they were, how moisture moves through the ground and into walls, and why concrete slabs and plastic membranes can sometimes create unintended damp issues.
We’ll also explain how breathable alternatives such as limecrete and foamed glass insulation work, how the layers interact, what finishes are compatible, and how to phase works if you’re living in the house at the same time.
It’s intended for homeowners, self-builders and tradespeople who want to understand the principles before making decisions, particularly where damp or floor replacement is involved.
The session runs for approximately 90 minutes and includes time for open questions.
