Heres a chimney we did a while back in The Claddagh, the house was 100 years old and the chimney had been leaking for years. We prepped with primer basecoated and meshed the entire surface including the chimney cap and finally applied a white silicone based render on top to insure the substrate would be water proof. A lot handier than knocking the chimney and replacing it and the finish looks like its brand new.
