As with all Insulation, Attic Insulation is very important. An Attic contributes to a large percentage of your homes heat loss. In our opinion it is where people make the most mistakes.

When its comes Attic Insulation it is important to:

- Use the correct material.
- Not compromise on the breathability of the roof.
- Leave such things like Water Tanks and Pipes safe.
- Achieve the proper u-value.
- Leave access to services

Keep Heat Insulation use materials such as Fiberglass, Cellulose and Rockwool. Rockwool’s Rockprime is our most commonly used product. Rockprime is a mechanically fitted wool. It is ideal for new builds and existing houses. It fills into all nocks and crannies. Places where it is impossible to fit rolls. Over wall plates, low pitch roofs, dormers etc.

// Air Tightness Contracting //

In recent years there has been a massive drive in the building industry towards Air Tightness. Having Low U-values is great, but having air and wind penetrating the building is not ideal. Basically a cold house and a heating system struggling to keep up of a windy day.

This Air Tightness comes in the form of:
- Air tight vapour control membrane to timber structure.
- Air tight tape to windows and doors.
- Sealing the blockwork.

The materials of choice is the market leading Swiss produced SIGA Products. Keep Heat Insulation are trained certified installers of SIGA products.

// Heat Recovery Ventilation //

There has been significant changes in building regulation, materials, house design and hot water capabilities in recent years. However, changes in Ventilation have been slow to follow.

People are struggling to find the correct balance between Air Tightness and Ventilation, resulting in:

Excessive cooling down of the house.

Not getting rid of the moisture inside the house.

Mould growth.

Poor Air Quality.

In our opinion Heat Recovery Ventilation is by far the best way of finding that balance.

// Open Cell Spray Foam Insulation //

We offer a range of spray foam solutions for various applications. Including open and closed cell options.

Open Cell Foam is typically used in house construction. A vent card is fitted then the foam is fitted to the vent cards.

The open cell foam together with a 50mm Air Gap between vent card and roofing felt removes moisture and allows the timber roof to breath. Open Cell Foam is mainly fitted to rafters/ sloping ceilings and is a great product for achieving your Air Tight requirements.
