Let's talk trees/shrubs, a firm feature favourite of ours is Hamamelis x intermedia 'Orange Beauty'. Hazel like leaves emerge yellowish-green flushed marron turning deep green in summer, and in autumn turn brilliant yellow and orange. From early to late winter, slightly twisted spidery scented flowers over 2cm long emerge on bare branches, at first yellow orange turning amber orange and red.
A plant of beauty all year round. It makes the most amazing feature in any border.
