This Mother’s Day, we became little Shade Seekers— wandering under giant canopies, meeting old tree friends and discovering new ones along the way.

But before the walk began, we asked the kids one tiny question:

**“What do trees and moms have in common?”**

And suddenly the answers started pouring in…
“They protect us.”
“They give us food.”
“They make us feel safe.”

Under rustling leaves and dappled sunlight, little hands traced leaf shadows into cards for their moms — tiny love letters made from shade itself. 🍃

What followed was not just a tree walk.
It was laughter on trails, curious questions, muddy shoes, hugs, discoveries, and a morning where nature quietly reminded us what care looks like.

Because maybe that’s what shade really is —
love that stands beside you without asking for anything back. 🌳

🌿 Shade Seekers – A Summer Tree Walk

Summer invites us to slow down, step into the shade, and discover the quiet magic of trees.

In this gentle, guided walk through Cubbon Park, children and parents will explore how trees become life-givers during the warm months — offering shade, shelter, and a thriving world of tiny wonders. From the textures of bark to the patterns of leaves and the coolness beneath a canopy, this experience is all about noticing what we often miss.

Through sensory observation and simple, playful activities, children will learn how trees support life all around us — especially in summer, when their presence matters most.

A calm, curious morning to reconnect with nature — and with each other.

Sometimes I wonder,
did I start Green Panther…
or did nature slowly bring me back to myself?

As a child, I remember running magnets over soil just to see what it would pull out, chasing butterflies, playing with touch me nots...I didn’t know it was called curiosity. I just knew it felt exciting. Real. Alive.

Somewhere between growing up, responsibilities, and urban life, that feeling becomes quieter for most of us.
Green Panther, in many ways, has been my way of not losing it again.

And today, as we hit 10K, I’m just filled with gratitude.
Thank you for believing. Truly.
Because every single one of you here isn’t just a follower — you’re someone who believes in this idea, this need, this return to nature.

Every weekend, when I see children kneeling to observe an insect, hesitating before touching mud, or proudly spotting a bird before the adults do, I’m reminded — curiosity doesn’t need to be taught. It needs to be protected.

Urban childhood today is shrinking into controlled environments, screens, and structured schedules.
But nature is unstructured. It is unpredictable. It demands attention. It builds resilience quietly.

I started it because I believe children deserve to feel the world, not just learn about it.
And perhaps, in helping them reconnect, I am also reconnecting.
