Tessera

Ending this series with one of my personal favourite frames from the project.

The staircase became more than a connector here — it turned into a canvas of light, craft, colour, and movement. The way this frame captures the curve, the shadows, the art, and the quiet drama of the space is a beautiful reminder of the photographer’s eye and creativity.

As designers, projects stay with us not just through spaces we create, but through the people we create them with. Tessera will always remain special for the trust, freedom, and warmth shared through the journey — and for how a client collaboration slowly became an everlasting memory.

The master bedroom brings together memory, craft, and tropical warmth.

An heirloom poster bed anchors the room, set against lime-wash textured walls, soft green cabinetry with cane shutters, and stained-glass inlays that add a quiet old-world charm.

The tropical wallpaper, framed with arch beading, creates a gentle backdrop for the TV unit, tying the room back to Tessera’s larger story of colour, craft, and material coming together.

A dining space shaped by connection.

Sitting between the living area, kitchen, parents’ bedroom, staircase, and garden edge, this corner becomes a natural meeting point within the home. The curved partition softly defines the dining zone, while the sweeping staircase and pendant above give it a strong visual anchor.

More than a dining spot, it becomes the pause point where different parts of the home gently come together.

Originally planned by the builder as a utility plus a less lit kitchen, this space was opened up to bring in better light, improve efficiency, and make it feel far more connected to the home.

Deep green tiles, warm wood cabinetry, a softly curved island, and sculptural glass pendants give the kitchen its distinct character, while the garden-facing opening adds freshness and ease to the everyday experience.

This sit-out was imagined as an everyday escape — part breakfast nook, part evening pause, part extension of the living space. The wooden deck, patterned outdoor rug, folding chairs, textured wall, hanging lights, and layered planting bring a relaxed tropical mood without making the space feel overdone.

The arched backdrop adds a quiet moment of craft, while the large glass opening keeps the inside and outside visually connected.

A small corner, but one that holds the rhythm of slow mornings, conversations, and sunlight.
