At We were designing a rectangular bedroom for a client who was very particular about Vasthu.
They insisted the bed be placed along the west wall.
On paper, that sounds harmless.
In reality, the west wall was the ๐๐ต๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ of the room.
Which meant:
ย โข tighter clearances
ย โข awkward circulation
ย โข compromised furniture layout
ย โข and a room that would feel more cramped than it actually was

I went ahead and developed the drawings exactly as per their requirement.
No arguments. No immediate resistance.
Just clarity on paper.
And then I brought the client back into the conversation.
Not to oppose, but to ๐๐ต๐ผ๐.
We walked through the layout together:
ย โข how movement would feel restricted
ย โข how usability would be affected daily
ย โข how the proportions of the room would visually shrink
No technical jargon.
No dismissal of Vasthu.
Just consequences.
Thatโs when it clicked for them.
Not because I told them they were wrong,
but because they could ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ what the decision meant.
And they made the call themselves.
Thatโs the shift most architects miss.
