Linear Haus @ Srirangam!
Small Plot. Daylighting / Ventilation ,
No Compromises.

Site visit update from our ongoing residence project at Srirangam — a 21’ x 85’ plot designed as a 3000 sft 2BHK home with an integrated office setup.

Even with a narrow site condition and one side attached to the neighboring property, the design ensures ample daylight and ventilation through a carefully planned courtyard.
The opposite side setback accommodates windows, plumbing, and sewage lines efficiently, making the planning both functional and practical.

To enhance structural safety, a 9-inch protective wall is provided from foundation level up to the plinth beam along the boundary-touching side, adding extra strength and long-term protection to the foundation.

Plot size can be anything — but daylighting and ventilation should never be compromised.

Site visit – SK Residence, Coimbatore
5500 sft 4BHK residence with Home Theatre & Study.

In this project we have designed daylighting courtyards, bay windows, cross ventilation, skylights, washroom seaters, soap niches and many more small details that will improve everyday living.

Seeing the design come to reality on site is always worth all the effort.

If you are planning to build a home, don’t just focus on elevation and square feet — focus on light, ventilation and how you will live inside the space. That is what makes a house feel like home.

Paint peeling from the bottom?
White salt stains on the wall?

👉 Your house is pulling groundwater inside.

This is capillary action — and it starts from bad basement protection.

Fix it during construction:

✔ Fly ash bricks up to basement level
✔ Plaster both sides before soil filling
✔ Bitumen coating to block moisture
✔ Proper layer-by-layer compaction

Ignore this = lifetime repainting
Do it right = dry walls for years.

⚠️ Structural Mistake That Cost Two Lives

A heavy MS gate was fixed onto a brick column.
The gate was stronger than the support.
While operating, the column failed — the gate collapsed.

This is not an accident. This is a design failure.

✅ Gate columns must be RCC and tied to a grade beam
✅ Hinges & MS flats should be embedded before concreting
✅ Proper welding after curing adds anti-fall protection

Never use brick columns for gates to save cost.
Safety is always cheaper than tragedy. Build with structural drawings.
