ABOUT THE PROJECT :

The Eyrie , a house on the hilltop overlooking the tea gardens of Pallivasal, Munnar, has an Eagle’s eye view of the valley below, including the Idukki Dam, and on a clear day, in the far distance, even the windmills of Ramakkalmedu.

An ideal weekend home, it is designed as a totally green building of 2119.5 Sqft on a property of 40 Cents. It is built from hand cut granite, carefully cut from the site itself to maintain the least footprint on this ecological sensitive area, with large expanses of glass for an unhindered view of the valley and mountains. A skylight is cut into the roof for sunlight to enter into the interior and for a panoramic view of the large rocks guarding the property in the rear.

The simple lines of the building, the materials used and the feel of the outside merging with the inside, has successfully created an ambience of a home floating in space looking down into the verdant valley below ,and leaving the lightest footprint on the earth.
