Garnier Sabuj Samman, season 3 is proud to announce the winner for this year-

Dumdum Park Tarun Sangha.

The pujo committee gave us a depiction of "Muktodhara" Or the free flowing river.
Rivers, considered to be the lifeline of civilizations. They bring prosperity to the valley while being the source of all life forms thriving around the path they flow.

Colonization led to the construction of dams that disrupted the natural flow of water, significantly altering the local microclimate. In addition to this, the man-made floods caused by dams result in the destruction of millions of trees, which further disrupts ecosystems and has a profound negative impact on agriculture.

The recent flood in west bengal is an example.

With one of the world's largest collage, the artist depicts the man made crisis and urges us to protect our rivers and their free flow, popularly known as "Muktodhara".

A warm welcome was extended with a beautiful traditional Bengali white uttariya featuring a red border.

The theme centered on the journey of Ahiritola as the heart of North Calcutta. The bright young faces gathered to present a beautiful narrative of the concept.

The vibrant celebration intricately wove together the cycle of life, death, and rebirth.

At its core, the Baitarani River flowed, symbolizing the eternal stream of existence, where every farewell subtly intertwined with the promise of return.

I was amazed by the stunning installation that beautifully highlighted the importance of conservation architecture.

With globalization, architecture is evolving, and many cities are losing their unique character.

Their message emphasized finding design solutions that preserve the identity of each city while incorporating modern conveniences.

The impressive presentation and warm hospitality left a lasting impression on us.

Bosepukur Sitala Mandir's theme, "Sanchay" (savings), may not directly represent sustainability, but they have skillfully incorporated the concept by using earthen pots and biodegradable materials, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship.

The theme of this pandal was Masan art, which refers to the Hindu burial grounds.

This art form, influenced by the Silk Route, originated in North Bengal and is heavily inspired by Tibetan painting styles.

Initially, the art was depicted on dolls. The Rajbongshi ethnic group are the main custodians of this art, which they refer to as "Masaņ Chitrakala." Historically, these paintings were believed to have healing powers and were used for medicinal purposes.

Over time, the art transitioned to being created on silk. The idol in the pandal had tribal influences too, and the structure was made from sustainable materials like clay and bamboo.

This initiative is an amazing effort to raise awareness about tribal art and promote sustainability.
