"FATRA" is Creole for what overflows our landfills & chokes the life force of our waterways - trash. We believe in the power of diversity that the hands create.

While our environment is seeing an over abundance in waste, communities in the global south (and the pacific islands more specifically) account for a fraction of the waste created; but are affected the most by drastic climate changes. FATRA is dedicated to transforming recycled, natural, and vintage materials into high-quality handmade goods in collaboration with other sustainable design teams tha

t analyze creative solutions to alleviate waste buildup. We believe cradle-to-cradle design will enhance the quality of life for all, while simultaneously maintaining balance within our ecosystem. Not only in the beauty of differences, but the strength that lies within; we believe that items produced with consideration for nature and the livelihood of others carries a sense of care, love, and compassion that transfers to its wearer. The Afro Fashion Association believes in the transformative potential of fashion, art, and culture as a means for cross-cultural exchange, empowerment, and sustainable economic development. Every change comes
with a vision, and that is why we will never stop giving space to the Afro Fashion Association community.
We are pleased to share our collaboration with Today at Apple Creative Studios Milan, we will hold Intensive workshops for four weeks dedicated to creative Innovation. This program invites young people between the age of 18-28 to join us as a part of our continuous work towards a more inclusive fashion system. Learn, collaborate, and give life to your ideas under the guidance of some of the industry's top talents.
But don't wait: applications close on Sunday, June 5!

Together with Today at Apple Creative Studios Milan we
believe we can contribute to influence industry standards, and work towards the development of an ecosystem of equity for emerging and underrepresented talent. This project is completely free to participants.

The separation of people from nature has to be the first sin. Separating science from spirit has to be a close second. Extracting sustainability from Indigenous cultures is a sin somewhere between the two.
But failing to recognize that “sustainability” is science and spirit isn’t a sin, it’s delusion.

The FATRA Entrepreneurs Prayer in 4 swipes 👉🏿

1. Keep your head up both internally and externally. Exercise positive self talk, celebrate your small wins, celebrate the work that doesn’t get public praise. Keep your head to the sky, give yourself grace.✨

2. Keep that s**t moving. Walk away from anything that doesn’t help you grow, make you money, shrinks you, conflicts with your morals. Made a mistake? Keep that s**t moving. They don’t value you? Keep that s**t moving. You hit your goals? STILL KEEP THAT S**T MOVING!

3. Sit pretty. Ok, I know I just said keep it moving 😅 but use your discretion, Not all movements are progressive. Exercise patience. Strategize in silence. Take time to reflect and make corrections where need be. Take breaks, plan your next move, calculate the pros and cons, make note of your mental health, creating your own path is by no means an easy task. Relax a lil. 💆🏿‍♀️

4. Show up & Show out! Believe in yourself, in your vision, in your capability. Always bring your best self to every opportunity, you never know who is basking in your light! 🌞
