Some of the results from our TRAP (The Remote-controlled Assembly Process) research project, part of the Target-X program, developed by Unicam ( ) and Centauroos () and built in Aachen at the Institute of Construction Robotics of the RWTH Aachen University ().

TRAP aims to develop an integrated digital protocol covering the design, production, assembly, and management phases for the AEC industry, enabled by the 5G technology and integrating processes and technologies such as computational design, BIM, concrete 3D printing, and Mixed Reality. The results was the Green5Wall, a wall system designed, produced, and assembled with the support of 5G.

I’m so grateful to have been part of this project, together with my - second family - wonderful team.

Outcomes (Pt.1) from the works of our student of the Pre-graduate Workshop in Construction of the Architecture and the Environment at , led by Prof. Roberto Ruggiero. This year’s theme was the design and prototyping of a system of green classrooms for the Val di Fiastra, using lightweight, small-scale solutions. The workshop brought together several topics dear to our research group, including computational design, digital fabrication, regenerative design, Design for Disassembly, and much more.

Dear students, congratulations on your hard work and thank you for remembering that teaching is not just about giving, but also about receiving. I wish you a future full of success, as you have all the right ingredients for it. 🍀

It was a great pleasure to participate in the fourth edition of the Summer School on Circularity in the Built Environment at TU Delft from June 27 to July 4, 2025, as a tutor and guest speaker at the round table on design. This year’s challenge for students involved designing and prototyping two structures made from reused steel, incorporating reused and bio-based façade components. I would like to congratulate the students for their excellent work, and thank the organizers and tutors, including Jan Jongert, Alexander Wandl, Florentia Kavoura, Stijn Brancart, Floor Hoogenboezem, Frank Schnater, Jagoda Cupać, Suhan Artug, and Arie Bergsma. But above all, I must thank Olga Ioannou () for giving me this incredible opportunity and for the priceless advice, hoping that this is only the first step in a long-lasting collaboration.

This week, our Unicam ( ) and Centauroos () team was in Aachen at the Institute of Construction Robotics of the RWTH Aachen University (). We began testing for the TRAP (The Remote-controlled Assembly Process) research project, part of the Target-X program.

TRAP aims to develop an integrated digital protocol covering the design, production, assembly, and management phases for the AEC industry, enabled by the 5G technology and integrating processes and technologies such as computational design, BIM, concrete 3D printing, and Mixed Reality.

I’m grateful to be part of such forward-thinking projects - and even more so to be working alongside an incredible team. Exciting developments lie ahead!
