"An idea is the mental representation of an entity, real or abstract, it is an inspiring concept, a starting point, a thought, it is the most abstract and essential thing that can be conceived by the human mind." It is the idea of an innovative project that begins today, in March 2014, taking its first steps into the world, yet, like any design and intention, for months it rested in the
mind of its young creator, the architect SIMONE ZANOLI. In any project, all starts with a dazzling mental urge, from one’s own lantern that suddenly shines and illuminates the mind of the one who raises it; it starts from the small to discover the big and to do that we need to set great objectives; the aim of FRANK ATELIER is to be able to bring together under one roof multiple artistic disciplines, make them coexist and interact with each other. FRANK ATELIER is born as a study of architecture, but the areas that it proposes to deal in are many and potentially infinite. At the basis of this project is creativity waiting to explode; the ability to turn imagination into something concrete, to transfer an idea into something tangible. Painting, sculpting, video making, design, writing, photography, fashion, movies are just a few examples of what we propose to consider, create, exhibit. The ultimate vision is a large family of artistic disciplines aiming together at a common target, leaving footprints in the urban soil of history. PEOPLE
Simone Zanoli was born in Milan in 1989. He attended the Polytechnic of Milan in December 2013 where he graduated with honors in Architecture thanks to his thesis:
"2013-2049 ; NATUR - IFICIO Urban regeneration and new ways of living for the city of Lahti"
This thesis has projected him into the current architectural scene and what future it offers, thanks to a project that deals with current issues and that are having an impact on the future. In his formation as an architect, he should be grateful to two masters who accompanied him in the college years: the architects Oliviero Godi and Juan Carlos Dall'Asta Gutiérrez. Designing is a passion; it fascinated him throughout the project, from the reading of the place to morphogenesis, from idea to execution, from concept to constructive detail. When starting a new project he plunges 360 degrees on every aspect of it with great determination, trying to answer all the questions and finding a solution to any problem put before him. During the course of a project he is always motivated to find the best answer, falling in love with the collage of ideas unleashed from his mind, and from the comparing and clash with different points of view. Once he has completed a project he begins to perceive a feeling of anxiety towards it and would almost always go back and change something. It that very feeling that drives him to continue his work, starting a new project with the same spirit and with the same tenacity of the last. The university experience has matured his ability to work in a team, where each element is critical to the success of any objective. In a group he often tends to assume the role of leader, trying to listen, to coordinate and manage his partners and their ideas for best possible implementation.

“Un’idea è la rappresentazione mentale di un ente, reale o astratto; è un concetto ispiratore, uno spunto, un pensiero; è ciò che di più astratto ed essenziale può essere concepito dalla mente umana.”
FRANK ATELIER è tutto questo: è un concetto, è un pensiero, è un’idea. È l’idea di un progetto innovativo che inizia oggi, nel Marzo 2014, ad affacciarsi sul mondo per muovere i suoi primi passi, ma che, come ogni disegno e intenzione, già da mesi riposava nella mente del suo giovane creatore, l’architetto SIMONE ZANOLI. In ogni progetto, tutto inizia da un folgorante impulso mentale, dal proprio lanternino che improvvisamente brilla e illumina la mente di colui che lo alleva; si inizia dal piccolo per poter scovare il grande, e per farlo bisogna porsi grandi obiettivi: quello di FRANK ATELIER è di riuscire a radunare sotto lo stesso tetto molteplici discipline artistiche, farle convivere e interagire tra loro. FRANK ATELIER nasce come studio di architettura, ma le aree che si propone di trattare sono molteplici e potenzialmente infinite. Ciò che sta alla base di questo progetto in attesa di esplodere è la creatività, la capacità di saper trasformare la fantasia in qualcosa di concreto, di trasferire un’idea su qualcosa di tangibile. Pittura, scultura, video making, design, scrittura, fotografia, moda, cinema sono solo alcuni esempi di ciò che ci si propone di considerare, creare, esporre. La visione finale sarà quella di una grande famiglia di discipline artistiche unite verso un obiettivo comune, lasciare delle impronte nel suolo urbano della storia. PERSONE
Simone Zanoli nasce a Milano nel 1989. Frequenta il Politecnico di Milano dove nel dicembre 2013 si laurea con lode in Architettura grazie alla tesi:
“2013-2049; NATUR – IFICIO Rigenerazione urbana e nuove forme abitative per la città di Lahti”
Questa tesi lo ha proiettato nell'attuale panorama architettonico e in quello che verrà, grazie ad un progetto che tratta temi attuali e che si approcciano ad una condizione temporale futura. Progettare è una grande passione; lo affascina tutto del progetto, dalla lettura del luogo alla morfogenesi, dall'idea alla realizzazione, dal concept al dettaglio costruttivo. Quando inizia un nuovo progetto si immerge a 360 gradi su ogni aspetto con grandissima che determinazione, cercando di rispondere a tutti i quesiti e trovando una soluzione a qualsiasi problema gli si ponga davanti. Durante il corso del progetto è sempre motivatissimo a trovare le migliori risposte, innamorandosi del collage di idee sprigionate dalla sua mente, e dal confronto/scontro con punti di vista differenti. Una volta concluso un progetto inizia a percepire dei sentimenti di angoscia verso di esso e vorrebbe, quasi sempre, tornare indietro e cambiare qualcosa. E' proprio questo sentimento che lo spinge a continuare il suo mestiere, iniziando un nuovo progetto sempre con lo stesso spirito e con la stessa tenacia. L'esperienza universitaria lo ha fatto maturare molto nel lavoro di gruppo, dove ogni singolo elemento è fondamentale per la buona riuscita di qualsiasi obiettivo. All'interno del gruppo in cui lavora tende spesso ad assumere il ruolo di “leader”, cercando di ascoltare, coordinare e gestire i suoi compagni e le loro idee per un'ottima realizzazione progettuale.
