A serene escape in the heart of campus. Curved benches, shaded trees, and modern minimalism come together to create the perfect spot to relax, study, or connect.
Layout & Circulation
• Curvilinear Geometry: The design avoids rigid, linear paths and instead adopts smooth, flowing curves for benches, pathways, and planting beds. This promotes a sense of relaxation and natural movement.
• Open Space Hierarchy: There are clearly defined zones for different activities—social interaction, relaxation, and quiet study—encouraging both group gatherings and individual use.
Seating & Gathering Elements
• Circular and Semi-Circular Benches: Concrete and wood benches form circular patterns around trees, fostering shaded, communal seating arrangements.
• Amphitheater-Like Zones: The first image shows a slightly sunken area with soft, rounded seating platforms resembling an informal amphitheater, suitable for gatherings, casual performances, or group discussions.
• Integrated Design: Seating is integrated into the landscape with seamless transitions between the hardscape and softscape.
Materials & Texture
• Natural & Urban Materials: A mix of smooth white stone or concrete, light-toned wood, and steel is used. This contrast highlights modernity while maintaining a warm, natural touch.
• Soft Textures: Rounded stone-like cushions or sculptural elements add a tactile quality to the space, likely inviting casual seating or lounging.
Vegetation & Shade
• Tree Integration: Trees are strategically planted through bench cutouts and along the path edges to provide natural shade and break up the expanse of hard paving.
• Minimal Understory Planting: Low-maintenance greenery such as groundcovers and flower beds (visible in the first image) adds a pop of color without overwhelming the clean design.
Functional and Aesthetic Elements
• Contemporary Canopies: In the first image, a large, disc-shaped canopy provides sculptural shade, acting as both a functional and artistic element.
• Lighting & Fixtures: While not heavily detailed in these images, the presence of light poles suggests nighttime usability. Fixtures appear minimal
