Many steel failures do not start from overload.
They start from detailing.

Weekly Video-1: This video explains why scallop details became a critical weakness in beam-to-column connections, how earthquake damage exposed this issue, and why the non-scallop method defined in JASS 6 offers superior performance.
At SCDC, we model non-scallop connections in Tekla Structures with a focus on structural intent, constructability, and fabrication clarity.
Accurate models lead to safer structures.

Seismic damping walls, vertical structures integrated into buildings, use special materials to absorb earthquake energy, reducing vibrations and minimizing potential damage. Implemented during the design phase, these walls enhance building stability, decrease seismic impact, and are particularly adopted in earthquake-prone regions or tall buildings for improved safety.hashtag hashtag hashtag hashtag hashtag hashtag

Episode-1 : History of Japanese architecture
Japanese architecture has traditionally been characterized by raised timber constructions with tiled or thatched roofs. Instead of using walls, sliding doors (fusuma) and other conventional divisions were utilized to adapt the internal arrangement of a space for various occasions. The element of wood, whose special qualities and physical properties achieve their full potential in flexible constructions, is essential to Japan's traditional building techniques. Using a complex network of joints, a flexible structure distributes stress throughout the entire assembly. Over many decades, Japanese carpenters have made the most of wood construction methods, leaving us with a wealth of stunning architecture that can influence a contemporary, ecological approach to building.
