This is Maison du Camphrier’s engawa — a traditional Japanese veranda crafted from polished, high-end camphor wood.

It extends along our home’s façade, harmonizing with walls finished in natural plaster and cedar (sugi) siding to create a seamless flow between indoors and out.

The vibrant lights, sparkling waters, soothing ambiance and relaxing sounds of Kyoto’s TeamLab Bio Vortex made our night extraordinary as we explored the whole building filled with color, motion, and wonder.

Two hours flew by so quickly—it wasn’t enough to see and enjoy everything. If you plan to visit, go for the afternoon schedule so you can make the most of their wide range of activities. It’s not just for adults; children will be amazed too! One of our favorite moments was coloring an ocean creature, scanning it, and watching it come to life on their incredible LED wall animation.

A perfect place to unwind, especially for busy souls seeking a blend of art, relaxation and play.
