RHO FIERAで開催されているミラノサローネの会場です。
有名ブランドのブースはこだわり抜かれた空間となっていました。
でもやはりこの通路のガラスの覆いが印象的です。
屋外家具が目立いました。
日本でも、もっと屋外空間を楽しめる空間づくりが必要かだと実感しました。

This is the venue for the Milan Design Week, currently being held at RHO FIERA.
The booths of famous brands featured meticulously designed spaces.
But what really stood out was the glass canopy covering this aisle.
Outdoor furniture was particularly eye-catching.
It made me realize that we need to create more spaces in Japan where people can enjoy the outdoors.

現在関わっている企業との出展に向けた視察です。
ミラノの街中で開催されている様々な場所での展示を見て回りながらミラノの都市空間を堪能しました。
これから色々な場所を紹介していこうと思います。

I went to the Milan Design Week.
It was a fact-finding trip in preparation for an exhibition with a company I’m currently working with.
I enjoyed exploring Milan’s urban landscape while touring the various exhibitions held throughout the city.
I plan to introduce some of these places in future posts.

佐渡島で特に独特の空間性を持つ集落、宿根木を訪れました。
船大工が作り上げた街並みです。
海に近く、谷間に集落をつくり、人だけが通る事を前提に作られた街は、スケールが独特で居心地が良く、懐かしさを感じる空間体験でした。

I visited Shukunegi, a village on Sado Island known for its uniquely atmospheric setting.
The townscape was crafted by shipbuilders.
Built close to the sea in a valley and designed with pedestrians in mind, the town has a distinctive scale that makes it feel cozy and inviting, offering a nostalgic spatial experience.

It has been three years since the completion of the LANDFORM Workshop Cottage KEIHOKU.
Because the building uses wooden exterior walls, we carried out the first repainting.

Taking this opportunity, we performed various maintenance work, and the color has deepened beautifully, giving the building more character.
By caring for and maintaining it over time, the building gains depth—and our attachment to it grows as well.

LANDFORM workshop cottage KEIHOKUが竣工して3年が経ちました。
木製の外壁を採用しているため、1回目の再塗装を施しました。
この機会に色々なメンテナンスを行い、色もすっかり濃くなり味が出てきました。
手を加える事でできる建物の深みと、愛情が増します。

新プロジェクトの調査のために佐渡島に行きました。
まずは佐渡金山の北沢浮遊選鉱場。
佐渡といえばまずはココかと言う事で行きました。
他にも色々な場所を回ったので少しずつアップします。

I went to Sado Island to conduct research for a new project.
First up was the Kitazawa flotation plant at the Sado Gold Mine.
Since this is the place that comes to mind first when you think of Sado, I decided to visit it.
I visited several other places as well, so I’ll be posting about them little by little.

Utilizing the "Expanding Kyoto's Wood Resources Development Project" promoted by Kyoto Prefecture, we have manufactured an outdoor bench with LED lighting using timber produced within Kyoto Prefecture. Through this project, we aim to promote the use of locally sourced timber, convey the warmth of wood to many people, and contribute to the effective use of forest resources. We present this bench as a product that can be shared within the scope of our ongoing projects.

This bench was designed not only for sitting and relaxing, but also to provide lighting that illuminates the ground without causing glare. By using standard timber dimensions of 105mm x 105mm and 2m in length for the basic structure, we have made it easy to transport and allows for greater flexibility in placement. We plan to deploy it as part of various events, or even as the main attraction of an event.

京都府が勧める『ひろがる京の木整備事業』を活用し、京都府内産の木材を用いて屋外で利用できるLED照明付のベンチを製作しました。この『ひろがる京の木整備事業』を通して、府内産材利用の促進や、木が持つぬくもりを多くの人たちに伝えること、森林資源の有効利用に役立てるなど、我々が展開する事業の中で発信できるモノとしてご紹介します。

このベンチは腰を掛けて安らぐ目的だけではなく、光源に眩しさを感じることなく足元を照らす灯りとして利用できるように考案しました。材の規格を一般的な柱材105mm×105mmの2mとして基本の形を組むことで、運搬のしやすさや設置場所の自由度を上げるように工夫しました。さまざまなイベなントの一部として、またイベントの主役としても展開できるように計画をしています。

With the arrival of spring, it’s the season when many plants begin to sprout.
I feel that engaging with nature is also a way of engaging with the changing seasons.

We’ve started preparing the plants needed to create the garden at landorm in Keihoku.
I’m already looking forward to seeing how they will grow by this autumn.

春の訪れとともに、たくさんの植物が芽吹く季節。
自然と向き合うことは、季節と向き合うことでもあると感じます。

京北のlandormの庭づくりに向けて、必要な植物の下準備をスタートしました。
今年の秋、どんなふうに成長しているのか…今からとても楽しみです。

I traveled to Boracay, a resort island in the Philippines.
It’s a very charming place where new resort hotels coexist with chaotic streets that remind me of Japan 70 years ago.

In particular, the homes where indigenous people live and the local shops were full of fascinating and intriguing architecture.
I spent several days surrounded by unique buildings and distinctive taxis.

フィリピンのリゾート地 ボラカイ島へ
新しいリゾートホテルと70年前の日本を思わせる混沌とした街並みが共存しており、とても魅力的な島でした。
特に、原住民が暮らしている住居や、地元のお店は興味をそそられる建物が沢山ありました。
ユニークな建築やタクシーに囲まれて過ごした数日でした。

We are currently exploring shoji screen designs for several ongoing Japanese-style interior projects.
Rather than directly replicating traditional kumiko craftsmanship, we are simplifying the composition while experimenting with enlarging the scale of each individual shoji panel.

At the same time, we are developing details that improve durability and minimize warping, exploring new possibilities for shoji from both design and structural perspectives.

数件進行している和風空間のプロジェクトで、障子のデザインを検討しています。
伝統的な組子の作り方をそのまま用いるのではなく、構成を簡略化しながら、障子一枚ごとのスケールを大きくする試みです。

同時に、耐久性や反りが出にくいディテールの開発にも取り組み、デザインと構造の両面から新しい障子の可能性を探っています。
