A HOUSE IN INDIA FEATURES A SPECTACULAR SHADED SLAB TO KEEP THINGS COOL BELOW.

Named the Slab House, this home in Taliparamba, India makes its moniker proud with its vast flat roof that covers the property in one enormous volume. A building designed to engage harmoniously with its surroundings, the functional Slab House is a product of its environment.

These key points informed the huge canopy placed over the building, which not only acts as a roof in the traditional sense but extends over the boundary of the home to create a shaded environment for a comfortable terrace that rings the building.

With the enclosure of the highway and the idea of the new overland park, an impetus of a public space is created, which not only opens up a completely new urban perspective along its winding-up, but also implies a new scale in its opposition and connection.

Series of two-storey terraced house typologies develop below the three lines into the depth of the parcel and thus form a typological counterpart to the height offset between the city floor and the new overland park. Between the buildings, ondul spatial sequences are created, which are emphasized by the superimposition of a pergola structure.

Borrowing a Slow and Healing Moment from the Island. In the everlasting summer of Hainan, the island sways in the leisurely sunlight, and the breeze from the bay brushes against the shore, passing through various shades of tropical greens.

combined a contemporary architectural language of minimalist sophistication with a spiritual sensibility inspired by Hainan's vernacular heritage and slow living island lifestyle. Thoroughly modern in aesthetic, the building complex is composed of three interconnected, glass-wrapped pavilions with swooping rooflines that echo the construction of local fishing boats.

One of the most influential architects and designers in the 1960s, Ludovico Magistretti (06/10/1920 - 19/09/2006), known by the nickname Vico, was born in Milan in 1920 into a family of architects.

STORIES OF OBJECTS | Essays on the use of photography in marketing design products and on media coverage of furniture in the 1960s to 2000s accompany the presentation of selected projects by Vico Magistretti.

the project was supposed to be a 20-day temporary installation to celebrate the eighth anniversary of Taikoo Li, an open, low-density neighborhood-form shopping mall, Roarc Renew designed it as a foundationless building, defining it as a "time-limited building" practice.
